Sanpo-kun, Takamatsu Sunport’s Mascot

The other day, I’m forgetting on which social network (most likely Google+) I was talking about the fact that there are mascots for pretty much everything in Japan. Actually this is a good occasion to remind you to follow me on your social network of choice, as you can find a lot of things on them (notifications of new blog posts, but also links to other blogs and sites, and last but not least, little extra tidbits that don’t make it to the blog for one reason or the other). Click on the icons on top of the sidebar on the right to get to them.

That discussion also reminded me about Takamatsu Sunport’s mascot for some reason. A few days earlier as we were having a family hang-out at Sunport, I took this picture of my daughter meeting the local mascot for the first time:

Sanpokun

Wondering about its name, I somewhat mockingly said it had to be “Sunport-chan”.
Almost. It is Sanpo-kun
