Hope

What can I write today?

I can’t write about the earthquake. I just can’t. There’s nothing I can say about it that will be worth reading (read this instead). I’m on the other side of the planet, everything I know, I know it the same way you do, from the news, Twitter and bloggers that are actually there.

I have the same fears, worries and sadness as you do.

I wish I could do something but apart from donating money to the Red Cross (see the link on the top of the sidebar), there’s nothing else I can do right now (check my Facebook page, when I find other resources and NGOs I’ll most likely post their links over there if I don’t do it here).

I can’t just write about the Setouchi Art Festival and pretend that nothing happened either (the show will have to go on soon, just not yet).

On the other hand I think we all could use a smile. So I hope this picture makes you smile the way it does for me.

  1. Yes, we should have hope and we sure could do with a smile at a time like this. 🙂

I had not wanted to post about the earthquake at first, me not being there in Japan but I too can’t just pretend nothing happened and continue with my posts like normal.

    1. Yeah, I’ve been wondering what to do. But really I can’t write about the earthquake, there’s nothing I can write that will be useful. And as far as links and news are concerned, I’m posting them on Facebook and Twitter. So, I’m considering a brief hiatus for the blog, I don’t know yet.
