It’s beautiful. I’ve noticed there always seem to be trees in your photos. Everywhere seems very green. That reminds a little of Ireland, which we left to come and live in France.
I’ve never been to Ireland, but I’ve indeed heard it’s very green (it’s even your unofficial national color isn’t it?).
I don’t think the area is as green as Ireland, but it is quite green indeed.
A lot of people (those thinking that Japan is Tokyo only) tend to dismiss my area as “the countryside”. Well, this is exactly why I love it, because it has nothing comparable to Tokyo.
As an example, I live “in town”, and yet, my “neighbor” is a rice field (which may not be as great as it sounds when it’ll be full of mosquitoes this summer, we’ll see 😉 )
Though the tea house is indeed beautiful from the outside, I think it’s purpose is served best from within, looking out onto the pond and the rest of the park. The tatami, and shouji within, giving it a sincerely traditional Japanese feel, and the beautiful park outside, easily viewable since it is open to nature from three sides in the main room. I loved this place when I went in. Truly serene…
You’re definitely right about that. Every time I get inside, I imagine having such a house with such a garden. It’s pretty much as close to perfection as it can get.
