So, today is Halloween, aka Pumpkin Day (sort of). Unfortunately, I haven’t really celebrated Halloween since I’ve left the US, even less so since I arrived in Japan, but pumpkins are a thing in my area, a noticeable one.

It’s a good thing that I went to Naoshima two weeks ago, isn’t it? Especially, because I hadn’t been in quite a while. Actually, I was surprised to see the changes around the Red Pumpkin. I guess it is becoming too popular and the grass that used to surround it can’t even grow anymore, hence that new “platform” around it. A bit sad, but I understand, it’s better than dirt (and mud and dust depending on the humidity or lack thereof).

And as far as the Yellow Pumpkin is concerned, I have the feeling (mostly based on my previous trips) that it’s exceptionally rare to find it with no one around…

So, Yayoi Kusama (unbeknownst to her) is joining me to wish you all a Happy Halloween!
