Awashima Buoy Art

Years before the Setouchi Triennale arrived on Awashima, the island had already been decorated with an interesting art project that I call “buoy art“. My appellation and I have no idea of the official one. Actually, I don’t have any information about it. I assume it was led by a local artist and done mostly by local kids from Mitoyo and around.

There’s also the Awashima Artist Village, the former National Sailor School that is used as an exhibit hall and of course, my favorite project on the island, Missing Post Office.
