Art Setouchi – October, November & December 2011

 

Hi, I’m back from a little trip to Andorra (hence the lack of updates this week, also remember that you can follow my other trips on my new blogs David + World and David in France) just in time for the Art Setouchi Schedule of the month. Except that this month, I’ll grant you with the schedule for the next three months. There are two reasons for that:

1. Chances are I won’t have time to give you the schedule for November and December when time comes (more details as of why in the coming weeks).
2. Some of the art will be closed starting November and won’t reopen until the Spring, so the schedule for most of Fall and Winter will be pretty light.

 

Art Setouchi Schedule for Fall 2011

 

 

• Liminal Air –core-
  Permanent free access.

 

• Naoshima Bath “I♥湯”
  Open every day except on Mondays, 2pm-9pm (from 10am on week-ends and holidays). Note that it will be open on Monday October 10th but closed on the following day (Tuesday October 11th).
  Admission: ¥500 (¥300 for Naoshima residents, ¥200 if you’re under 15).
• Lee Ufan Museum
  Open every day except on Mondays, 10am-5pm (last admittance at 4.30pm). Lee Ufan Museum will be open on Monday October 10th but closed on the following day (Tuesday October 11th).
  Admission: ¥1,000.
• Art House Project (Kadoya, Minamidera, Go’o Shrine, Haisha, Ishibashi, Gokaisho)
  Open every day except on Mondays, 10am-4.30pm. Art House Project will be open on Monday October 10th but closed on the following day (Tuesday October 11th).
  Admission: ¥400 each house or ¥1,000 for a pass allowing entrance to all houses.
• Art House Project (Kinza)
  Open Fridays to Sundays, 11am-1pm and 2pm-4pm. Kinza will also be open on Monday October 10th.
  A reservation is required.
  Admission : ¥500.
• Benesse House Museum
  Open everyday 8am-9pm (last admittance at 8pm).
  Admission : ¥1,000.
• Chichu Art Museum
  Open every day except on Mondays, 10am-5pm (last admittance at 4pm). Chichu Art Museum will be open on Monday October 10th but closed on the following day (Tuesday October 11th).
  Admission : ¥2,000.
• Various permanent works are all around the island, especially near the Benesse House, including Blind Blue Landscape, Red Pumpkin, and Yellow Pumpkin.

 

 

Teshima

  Open every day except on Tuesdays, 10pm-5pm in October and November.
  In December, open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, except for December 29th, 30th and 31st.
  Admission : ¥300 (free for customers of the café).
• 101 Years Old’s Silence／100 Years Old’s Hands
  Open on the week-ends, 10.30am-4.30pm. 101 Years Old’s Silence／100 Years Old’s Hands will also be open on Monday October 10th, Thursday November 3rd, Wednesday November 23rd.
  In December, it will be closed on Christmas and New Year’s Eve week-ends.
  Admission : ¥300.
• Tom Na H-iu
  Open on the week-ends, 10.30am-4.30pm. Tom Na H-iu will also be open on Monday October 10th, Thursday November 3rd, Wednesday November 23rd.
  In December, it will be closed on Christmas and New Year’s Eve week-ends.
  Admission : ¥300.
• Farther Memory
  Open in October on the week-ends, 10.30am-4.30pm. Farther Memory will also be open on Monday October 10th.
  Closed in November and December.
  Admission : ¥300.
• Particles in the Air
  Permanent free access.
• Shima Kitchen
  Open in October from Fridays to Sundays, 10.30am-4.30pm. Shima Kitchen will also be open on Monday October 10th.
  In November and December, open only in the week-ends as well as on Thursday November 3rd, Wednesday November 23rd. Closed on Christmas and New Year’s Eve week-ends.
  Free admission (the food is obviously not free)
• Your First Colour (Solution in my Head / Solution in my Stomach)
  Open in October from Fridays to Sundays, 10.30am-4.30pm. Your First Colour will also be open on Monday October 10th.
  In November and December, open only in the week-ends as well as on Thursday November 3rd, Wednesday November 23rd. Closed on Christmas and New Year’s Eve week-ends.
  Admission : ¥300.
• Storm House
  Open on the Week-ends, 10.30am-4.30pm. Storm House will also be open on Monday October 10th, Thursday November 3rd, Wednesday November 23rd.
  In December, it will be closed on Christmas and New Year’s Eve week-ends.
  Admission : ¥300.
• Teshima Art Museum
  In October and November, open every day except on Tuesdays, 10am-4pm (last admittance at 3.30pm).
  In December, open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, closed on New Year’s Eve week-end.
  Admission : ¥1,500.
• Les Archives du Coeur
  In October and November, open every day except on Tuesdays, 10am-4pm (last admittance at 3.30pm).
  In December, open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, closed on New Year’s Eve week-end.

Megijima

  Permanent free access.
• Megi House
  In October, open on the week-ends, 10.40am-4.30pm. Megi House will also be open on Monday October 10th.

• The Presence of Absence
  In October, open on the week-ends, 10.40am-4.30pm. The Presence of Absence will also be open on Monday October 10th.
  Closed in November and December.
  Admission : ¥300.
• Equipoise
  In October, open on the week-ends, 10.40am-4.30pm. Equipoise will also be open on Monday October 10th.
  Closed in November and December.

• Sea Gull Parking Lot

• Momo’s Game or Victory of the Naked Peach
  Open everyday, 8.30am-5pm.
  Admission : ¥500 (it’s actually the admission fee for the Oni Cave where the art is located).

  In October, open on the week-ends, 11am-4.30pm. Takeshi Kawashima and Dream Friends will also be open on Monday October 10th.

  In October, open on the week-ends, 11am-4.30pm. Sea Vine will also be open on Monday October 10th.

Shōdoshima

  Open every day but Wednesdays, 9am-10pm. Tsugi-Tsugi-Kintsugi will also be open on Wednesdays November 23rd, but closed on Thursdays November 24th as well as on December 28, 29 and 30.
